At the Home Depot, a single
plastic plumbing part laments not becoming a storage bin, or a trash
receptacle, or a large garage storage box.
On the shelves across the aisle were plastic storage bins of varying sizes and colors.
The disgruntled gray plastic PVC pipe elbow thought that he could have been more.
"We will be put under a sink, somewhere dark and moldy," lamented the PVC elbow.
"Those bins over there will be fully utilized over and again. What great worth they have compared to us."
"Listen, Elbow," says a large brass sink trap two shelves away.
"You have an important job to do wherever you are placed. Our merits are silent. Hey, we could be there 20, maybe 30 years.”
The trap continues, “There are other pipes, detergents, cleaners, sprays, brushes, and a bucket to get to know down there. They get to leave the cabinet and go out every now and then.”
“We will get an occasional glimpse out when they open the cabinet doors. That's what I
heard, anyway."On the shelves across the aisle were plastic storage bins of varying sizes and colors.

The ever-burdened and remorseful PVC elbow, diminished by his perceived low station, was now being jostled by the hand of a gray plastic PVC pipe elbow buyer.
In a final act of defiance, the just-grabbed PVC elbow cried out,
"I coulda been a container!”
