In a sudden wild gust of wind howling
I stroll along the curving path
Listening to the crunchy sound under my feet
Waves of wind sweep up the dried leaves
Moving them forward fast
Before me
All flowers are gone
Birds and squirrels are disappearing
The aged trees stand straight as usual
Trying to bend down a little just
To resist the wind
Under the chilling sun
The geese calmly sail along with the speedy wind
While the white birds huddle together in excitement
A few of them playfully shoot up to the sky
Claiming that they are the flying kites
A snowy egret standing on one leg in the pond
While turtles rest on a rock to catch the last sunshine
Runners, bikers and strollers moving along in a hurry
While elders sit on the bench minding their business
Some men and children by the glistening lake
Believing the wind will send fishes to their fishing hooks
The willows in the corner let down hundreds of hands
Into the water to allure fishes swimming by
Benches under the willows sit there motionless
Eavesdropping to know what the wind is screaming about
The anxious clouds free-floating above in silence
Staying away from gossip of the coming rain and thunder
The amber red and yellow leaves are scared trembling
Trying to hold on to the trees
The reeds by the pond vigorously shake left and right
Worrying so much that their heads turn into glistening white
The American flag flaps restlessly in the wind
Beating the pole hard and loud
To question the chilling wind
As to when it is going to bring the snow
